Needed to take photos for my class using a technique called hyperfocal focus. Used manual mode and focused at five feet before leaving the house, put a piece of blue painter's tape to keep the focus and went over to the pond to take a photo or twenty. Landscape is not a favorite. Hope my brain starts to think in interesting landscapes some day soon, because there is a lot of beauty out there.

Bless

I have been blessed with three sons. The youngest has a green thumb. Last fall he brought home bunches of hazelnuts. He planted seeds and they are now small trees that can be planted this spring.

Thirst

Yesterday, we had a Chicken and Biscuit dinner at our church. We do this as a fundraiser, but more importantly it gives folks a chance to work together. Looking around at the congregation, I see so many different people. Some of these folks would not cross paths if it were not for church activities such as this. We are thirsty for the word of God, and also there is a thirst for those around us. Working together as a faith community helps to quench that

LOVE, SPIRIT

Thursday and Friday are together. The kids had snow days and I had Kasiah overnight and Talan decided to come out on Firday and play in the snow. Two of the people I love with great spirit.

EVIL

Today's word is evil. Last year I took a photo that was scary. It was an assignment that was supposed to be dark. For me it is like the tree would like to swallow whatever enters. Just like evil would like to lead you in and not let go. Now to find the photo.

Another prompt is world. On Sunday, I had the opportunity to go to Lincoln and be a part of a Mission event at the home of Randy Daubert. Randy is a part of the mission committee at Trinity United Methodist church. There were folks at this event from the Nigeria/Nebraska Partnership committee and the church. Among the church members is a family from another part of Nigeria, I believe the south. It was really interesting to visit with them and try foods from Africa. This is such a reminder that we are a part of the world that interacts so much more than ever before.

RETURN

Only a few days into lent and I am already way behind. One of the prompts is return. I'm not sure for which day. Winter returned after a day of much higher than normal temperatures. I went out and caught a few photos of the snow. It is such a dry time now that any moisture is most welcome. The return of winter and of moisture renews faith and reminds us that faith is all we have. We must have faith that rain will come again,  the seasons will continue and the sun will come up in the morning. We often forget how small we are, that we have no control and that nature will return with what we need. We are blessed!
